Our series, The Road Ahead. We start with "Knowing the Destination" because if we don't know where we are going, how will we know if we are on the right path? Our destination (aka, "vision") is a place where Nobody is Perfect | Everyone is Welcome | Anything is Possible. We believe this will look like a growing community of people who are loved and love others! We continue with "Trusting the GPS" and conclude with "Travelling Together."
The concept of My One Word is simple. Lose the long list of resolutions - - - all your sweeping promises to change - - - and do something about one thing this year instead of nothing about everything. Choose just one word that represents what you hope God will do in you, and focus on it for an entire year.
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel†(which means “God with usâ€) Matthew 1:23. In every moment, we have God With Us. He is with us through the pain, He is with us in the waiting. God is with us when we feel all alone, and He is with us when we are anxious. No matter our circumstances, we can celebrate that God is with us.
We are constantly chasing for things that make us happy or fulfilled. Unfortunately the things we chase make us feel like we are on a treadmill going nowhere. We are all seeking Comfort, Money and Approval but they fail to satisfy. It's time we chase what really matters.
David McClary discusses why people go to other countries to present the Gospel. Video at end included with author's permission.
We all have regrets about the past. Many of them come from our attempts to fulfill unmet longings. Beginning today, our Life Group series Starting Over will show us how to recognize specific regrets and then release them to God as opportunities to start over.
While Jesus was on this Earth, He wasn’t interested in token gestures. He didn’t care about outward behavior. He challenged the “religion†of the day. He smashed preconceptions. He called out haters and critics. He shook up anyone whose faith was lukewarm, and He brought hope to the broken, the lost, and those tangled in sin. In this series, we’ll rediscover what Christ intended for us when He said, “Follow me.â€
